CAROL OF THE COLORS (2006)
Our Lord is born, and now we see
before our wond'ring gaze
A world whose every color glows
with beauty in His praise.
He paints the earth with rainbow hues,
all singing in His name,
And joyously they call to us,
His wonders to proclaim.
Away, all darkness!
Shadows, flee this glorious display!
The Uncreated Light is come
to earth on Christmas day!
The crimson holly berries twined
in wreaths upon our doors
Are tiny drops of Heavenly fire,
that flame from which life pours.
And crimson too is Jesus’ blood,
which gives us life above,
Forever safe within His heart,
aflame with Heavenly love.
Away, all darkness!...
The Christmas candles’ golden gleam
dispels the gathering night
While telling of the sun above,
our never-failing light.
And golden too the nimbus
that surrounds our Savior’s face,
Celestial Truth made plain for us,
awaiting our embrace.
Away, all darkness!...
The Christmas tree stands green and straight,
while circling branches spread
Its verdance, filling saddened hearts
with peace and joy instead.
O Jesus, our true Evergreen,
our Tree of heavenly treasure,
In Thee we see our earthly joys
made full beyond all measure.
Away, all darkness!...
The Virgin wrapped in azure blue
reflects the sky above,
Which touches earth at every point
with Grace and Perfect Love.
So may our souls in every part
rejoice when Gabriel sings
Of red and golden, green and blue,
the gifts which Christmas brings.
Away, all darkness!...
