JESUS, THOU ART ALL THINGS FAIR (2001)

On Christmas day we greet Thee, Lord,

  the Father’s very Breath,

Who comes as Lord of Life to us

  and victor over death.

Though Herod’s sword still waits within

to slay Thee at Thy birth,

And Rachel weeps for millions lost

  across a darkened Earth,

We see the Father’s everlasting Life

  shine in Thine eyes

And know that Satan’s deadly pow’r

  no longer terrifies.

Jesus, Thou art all things fair,

and Beauty without measure.

We worship at Thy manger now

and find our perfect Treasure.

On Christmas day we greet Thee, Lord,

  the unbegotten Word,

Whose voice sets bounds to Heaven

and is by the angels heard.

Though men conspire to take Thy place

  as arbiters of law,

And teach as good the evil thoughts

  disgorged from Satan’s maw,

In Thy pure birth the Father’s mind

  comes clearly into view,

And in Thy face we see the Good,

  the Beautiful, the True.

Jesus, Thou art all things fair...

On Christmas day we greet Thee, Lord,

the babe who brings our peace

Who with a word doth still the waves

and make the storms to cease.

Though demons spring to life without

  and dark’ning mysteries flow,

And every heart is torn within

  by passion’s ceaseless flow,

Thou comest near and in Thy calm

  our unseen foes all flee,

And we are left restored and whole,

  our lives complete in Thee.

Jesus, Thou art all things fair...

On Christmas day we greet Thee, Lord,

  our guide along the Way,

Who comes to show

  the path which shines

  with Heaven’s brightest ray.

Though earthly plans and promises

  conspire to fail us all,

And here around us men and nations

  like our towers fall,

Thy Path is sure, Thy Light fails not,

and we would heed Thy call

Until we enter Heaven’s gate

where Thou art All in All.

Jesus, Thou art all things fair...
